That time is finally here - and it is about time.
We are excited to finally launch The Nigeria Prize for Difference and Diversity
– to find, recognise and support individuals, communities, and organizations
creating safe spaces for individuals, free from discrimination and
marginalization with The Nigeria Prize for Difference and Diversity.
The Prize is geared to support the opening up of the voices,
hearts, and spirits of young people across Nigeria, urging them to embrace
their true identities and accept their uniqueness without fear of
being suppressed, oppressed, even misunderstood.
Fifteen Outstanding Individuals Will Be Selected.
The 15 finalists will be announced in October and will be selected for the one week workshop where they will be coached and mentored by a faculty of the brightest minds across media, rights and governance.
This will be followed by an awards presentation in December to commemorate World Human Rights Day, where the overall winner will receive N1 million endowed by journalist and entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo for this first edition. Jideonwo has been at the forefront of diversity and difference storytelling and activism across Africa.
Nominees must be between the ages of 18-35 as at the period of nomination
